Lost wax cast in brass with nickel silver, these processional crosses have been produced in the same way by the Coptic Christians since the 14th century. Each one is unique, traditionally carried in processions or proffered for the devout to kiss, individually modelled in wax, then moulded in clay for casting. Approximate sizes are 24cm wide x 41cm high x 7cm diameter at base.
